What Could Sore And Strained Muscles Suggest?

I had inflamed intracostal muscles for 6 months after suffering a cracked rib from coughing. Now my entire abdomen feels like the muscles are strained. Had an ultrasound and organs are fine. Doctor doesn't have a clue. I can't play golf because it hurts when I bend over. Ribs still sore off and on. Any suggestions?
