What Could Spots On Lung In The X-ray Report Suggest?

I had a routine chest xray as part of a wellness check up. The xray show a 5 centimeter spot on the left lung . I t has been recommended that I have a Cat scan. How concerned should I be ? Blood work was fine. Ultra sound showed a nodule on the thyroid and doctor said it is benign. I feel fine. But my pocket book is not. How much should I worry about the lung spot. My doctors nurse said it could be a bad xray.

welcome to Health care magic.
1.You should not worry, but followup with proper investigations is very much necessary.
2.Contrast enhanced CT scan will assess the type of lesion ( benign / malignant) cystic, solid.( a guided biopsy will be confirmatory)
3.Thyroid nodule also need to get an FNAC - fine needle aspiration cytology done for confirmation of benign lesion.
4.An ultrasound abdomen pelvis to see if there is any lesions seen in the liver. Look for any enlarged lymph nodes.
5.Suggest get all tests done as soon as possible.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
