What Could Streaks In Line Of Vision With Wisps Of Smoke Indicate?

Late this afternoon I noticed streaks in my line of vision but thought it was caused by raindrops on my glasses because it went away when I dried the lens. A few minutes ago I noticed something like wisps of smoke. Is this something I should be alarmed about?

Hello and thank you for the question!
The symptomes you describe are part of a common phenomenon known as floaters and flashes. It is well known that most of us, will experience in some point of our lives this symptomes. Usually there are sign of aging.
This symptomes appear when small pieces of the eye's gel-like vitreous break down and floats around in the liquid center of the vitreous.
You need to worry about only when you see a large amount of floaters or light flashes beacuse this might be a sign of retina tearing which is a grave condition. In this case you should consult an Ophtalmologyst as soon as possible for further check ups and the right diagnosis / treatment. I hope this info helps you.
Best regards!
