What Could Sudden Appearance Of A Painful Lump On Head Indicate?

I had a lump on my head which was very painful and was not caused by bumping my head the lump was painful but didnt seem like a pimple. Now the lump went down but is still there and my hair fell completely out around the lump which is still present it has been about a month what is it????

This is very characteristic for infectious cyst. It is possible that some lump has been there before it has happen. Due to an infection, it became swollen and painful. Lack of hair in this area indicates that still there is an inflammation.
I suggest you to consult dermatologist in first row. Some incision might be also necessary.
