Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
There are plenty of causes for chest pain.
As you have the sharp pain in chest and exaggeration of pain while taking breath is most probably
musculoskeletal pain and
Costochondritis.
Costochondritis is nothing but a inflammation of area where the ribs join the breast bone.
But it can also be caused by gastritis,
heart disease etc.
Thus you need further examination with detailed history and investigations like ELectrocardigram,
Echocardiogram and treadmill test.
While examination, your
Primary care doctor may check pulse, Blood pressure and other check for any other signs of heart disease or gastritis or Gastoesophageal reflux disease.
Depending on the diagnosis, treatment varies. For example, if he suspects, it as musculoskeletal pain, he may advice painkillers and rest.
If it is due to GERD, then he may prescribe H2 blockers or Proton pump inhibitors and advice some diet changes.
Hope this helps.
Please write back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
