What Could Sudden Sharp Pain And Tenderness In Lower Part Of Leg Indicate?
While sleeping last night a sharp sudden pain started in the lower back part of my left leg where the achilles tendon is. It seemed to increase in intensity but stopped when I jumped out of bed and stood up. This morning there is no pain when I walk but when I massage the area there is a slight tenderness. What could it be? I dplayed one set of tennis that afternoon but do so regularly and yesterday only one set when I often play two or more. Thanks
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
The symptoms seem to be related to tendinitis which is an inflammation of the tendons. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I recommend to use cold compresses for local application and maintain the area immobilized to prevent further damage. If the symptoms continue, you should see an orthopedist for further evaluation.
Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards!
