What Could Swollen Lymph Node With Hearing Loss Suggest?

Hi, my boyfriend has been expiriencing hearing loss and pain in his ear canal and behind his ear. Today I noticed a swollon lymph node right behind his ear. The pain seems to have been increasing the last couple days. Could you please help me figure out what this might be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your boyfriend seem to be related to an ear infection. The swollen lymph node is usually related to an infection. I suggest an examination by the ENT Specialist for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using ear drops for antibacterial properties.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
