Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Swollen, Painful Lump Around Belly Button And Behind The Ears Indicate?
I have a swollen, painful lump on the upper right side of my belly button. This happens all the time, and it never seems to go away. I also am constantly getting 2 swollen lymph nodes in front and behind my ear. I don t even have a stuffy nose or an infection to fight. I find it strange that it is extremely painful to sit up. Is this also a lymph node? Should I be worried? I am a 19 year old female by the way.
Your symptoms seem to be related to swollen lymph nodes. The cause of swollen lymph nodes can be the presence of an infection in the system. One of the common causes can be an ear infection or dental infection. I suggest to use anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen to relieve the swelling. I also suggest to consult an ENT specialist for further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
