What Could Swollen Tonsils With Scars And Pain Despite Penicillin Treatment Indicate?

i have been diagnosed with strep throat and am on day 9 of a 10 day round of penicillin vk. my throat is still red and swollen. there are no white patches and very little pain. just slightly sensitive. my tonsils appear to be sagging/hanging low and have visible crypts/holes that look like scars. is this normal?

Hi, thanks for the query.
In my opinion, you should start antiseptic mouthwash , Plenty of fluids , combination of Paracetemol + Ibuprofen . Visible crypts & visible crypt & hanging tonsil common after tonsilitis.
