Hi...my mother detected a jaundice. .on 10 june 2015..SGPT 1600 , SGOT 1200 & BELIRUBIN-6.4 after some days it was increased to 2200 , 1500, 7.2 respectively...but now by 22 june reoprt says sgpt -100 , sgot-120, total belirubin- 11., HEPETETICE test is negative.......wht all does this mean?...is it recovering phase from jaundice, lever diseases or not?
Hi, The first test report is suggestive of hepatitis as the liver enzymes are markedly raised with a hepatitis type of pattern. Hepatitis may be of the Hepatitis A type which is acquired through food and water. Hepatitis B and C acquired through blood and blood products appears to be negative here. There are other types of hepatitis also which are rare. Some of the rarer causes of hepatitis are autoimmune type and drug induced types etc. The second report appears to be a recovery phase type of pattern. Should you require further assistance in your lab tests and reports you may post them here . Best regards.
