what is the meaning of my TVS result? The uterus is anteverted with smooth contour and homogeneous echopattern measuring 6.6x3.8x3.1 cm (the cervix measures 3.0x2.8x2.4cm) The endometrium is hyperechoic measuring 0.8cm with distinct subendometrial halo. The right ovary measures 4.0x3.1x2.3cm,The left ovary measures 3.5x3.4x2.6cm. Both ovaries have multiple small anechoic cysts measuring 0.2-0.3cm. No adnexal mass seen. There is minimal anechoic free fluid in the cul-de-sac?
Your ultrasound findings may suggests polycystic ovarian disease(PCOD). PCOD is indicated by increase ovarian size and multiple small cysts.
PCOD should be confirmed by clinical correlation and biochemical markers like hormonal assay for PCOD. PCOD is a curable disease and mostly it is treated by medicines.Surgical intervention is required in very few cases.
Other findings like uterus, endometrial thickness are normal. Minimal fluid in POD may be due to ovulation.
