What Could The Hard Lump Near The Scrotum Be?

I had a inguinal hernia repaired four years ago0n the left side of my scrotum. Two years later the other side has popped up...a hard lump, but not painful, I can now feel a round smooth nball-like lump moving around, It is not in the scrotum, near near it, I hope it s my hernia and not testicular cancer.I am 71 yrs. old, and in good shape.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query .
Hard painless lump near scrotum can be Spermatocele .

However diagnosis can be confirmed only on clinical examination by a qualified General surgeon or Urologist and Ultrasound Scanning of Scrotum.

Please go ahead and consult either of the two to confirm the diagnosis.

Further treatment will be decided by him based on clinical findings and result of scanning.

One thing I can assure is that being free from testes it is not cancer of the testicle.
