General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation you are in.

If I was your caring doctor would advise to run an xray of the knee to evaluate changes. I'd also recommend to consult with an orthopaedic specialist for a more accurate care.

For the moment, I advise to :
- avoid excessive walking
- do not stretch or any other movement of the knee without consulting the orthopedician.
- apply alternating warm and cold compresses
- take anti inflammatory medications orally

Hope it was of help!
