What Could Twitching Vaginal Sensations Suggest?

I noticed over the last two wks that I have this strange uncomfortable feeling in my lower part maybe inside virgina. Or before there a tweeching feeling and sort of ache. Strange never felt that before. Had my cervical smear test results this week all clear. But had test done 4wks ago this started two wks ago.I m just concerned. I m 41 period due now. What could it be?
