Hi I recently diagnosed with alopecia areata. I have no previous history of this disease. nor to my family. I came to USA last year then transferred to NY from NJ . In NY I first found this . One single bald spot on my head. I went to India to consult with physician , He instructed me to take cortisteroid injection, I took one and came back to USA. after one injection I found some hair visible in that patch but now it is same again. Need suggestion for treatment.

Hello,

I have gone through your query and would recommend you to apply topical steroid like clobetasol propionate lotion on the affected area twice daily for 3-4 weeks. This will help in causing hair regrowth.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
