Hello,

Carbohydrate rich diet is advised in a patient with jaundice for easy digestion and to lessen the burden of the liver. This helps the liver to heal faster and return back to normal.
This may not be ideal for your father because he is a diabetic.
so I this situation I would advice my patient to take carbohydrates in the form of whole grains and fiber rich foods like vegetables, greens and fruits.
Fibers will help control the blood sugar. Fat rich foods like meat and oily food should be avoided till the liver enzymes return to normal.
