I have known for perhaps 5 years that I have gallstone(s). I think I have had some discomfort after a meal, right lower rib area. Not too bad. What foods are better than others? I think I know (stay away from fatty foods, butter, cream, etc. Is avocado another bad fatty food for this condition? Perhaps some shell fish, prawns?? This discomfort is very new, would like to have more info. Thank you

Hi Thank you for asking HCM For Gall stone disease if you are asymptomatic you can take all kind of fishes. If you are symptomatic then you should take the less fatty fishes like pollock, haddock, orange roughy.Shellfish is naturally low in fat, making it a good choice in your diet for gallstones. A 3-ounce portion of cooked lobster or shrimp contains less than 2 grams of total fat.It is better to avoid them fried or seasoned with butter or margarine. It is better to take steamed food.Yellow of egg and the cakes containing those should be avoided as they are good stimulants for gall bladder.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
