What Do Chronic Ischemic Changes In The Visualized Pons Mean On An MRI Report?
Hi, I just received my MRI results, I have had 2 neck surgeries and still have abundance of pain. My questions are 1. Findings; Spinal cord :Chronic ischemic changes in the visualized pons as before otherwise remarkable? What does this mean? 2.C4-5 minimal disc osteophyte slightly effaces the thecal sac, improved from comparison. Uncovertebral hypertrophy mild right foraminal stenosis 3. C6-7 uncovertebral hypertrophy causes mild foraminal narrowing. there is a slight effacement of anterior thecal sac 4. c7-t1 facet hypertrophy causes mild bilateral foraminal narrowing. canal is patent, My last surgery was last march 2015, I have been in so much pain worse than before either surgery, Is any of this repairable or does this mean I get to live the rest of my life in pain?
Though the neurology is a very complex issue and needs to be evaluated in very much depth clinical details to arrive at a particular possible diagnosis or differential diagnosis;
Chronic ischemic changes in visualized pons most likely indicate inadequate blood circulation via arterial compression at basilar, vertebral or posterior cerebral arteries in most instances.
A detailed Doppler study with angiography would reveal the best results for underlying cause and management accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
