What Do Abdominal Bloating And Pain Under The Ribs Indicate?

I have had the flu for the last 5 days. I have had lost if gas and bloating. Now I have pain just under the ribs on the left side. It hurts to bend. I still have the bloating. What can be causing this. I have had bowel blockages before(2 surgerys) this just has not felt like that did!
