What Do Abdominal Cramps Along With Bloating And Diarrhea Indicate?

A 12 yr girl since 3 days ago has been belching a rotten egg taste. Late evenings she starts having bad stomach cramps and passing alot of gas. Than after she goes to bed she is up with vomiting and dirrahea with lots of gas and bad cramps. But in the daytime she feels good but yet passing lots of gas. We can t figure this out and if it s just a virus that hits her during her sleeping time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

1. This is purely bacterial/parasitic/ viral stomach infection due to some food contamination or food intolerance.
2. Either antibacterial/antiviral/antiparasitic drugs to be given after stool examination
3. Vomiting to be stopped by antiemetics/and antispasmodics for abdominal cramps
4.If vomiting persist ,hydrate the patient with IV fluids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
