What Do Blisters And Burning Sensation On The Left Arm Indicate?

I have been on Gabapentin 300 MG for a week now. I am taking it for nerve pain. I have come out with blisters on my skin and a burning feeling it s all on my left arm and that s where the pain is that I am being treated for. Is this a serious side effect?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have gone through your complaints and it seems to be shingles. The nerve pain and blisters is a feature of shingles and not a side effect of Gabapentin. You should take a course of antiviral medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
