What Do Brown Spots All Over The Buttocks Indicate?

Hello! I know this seems like a dermatologist question, but I have noticed that I have small brown dots all over my buttocks, and they don t itch or feel like bumps, they are just embarassing... I wear a polyester/cotton uniform all day so i don t know if that is causing it, and I have tried wearing 100% cotton underwear and being sure to clean my skin thoroughly and I am not sure what else to do about it.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of brown spots all over the buttocks which seems to be due to heat produced due to rubbing and leading to frictional reaction. It could be hyperpigmentation as well.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid touching or pricking these rashes. You should wear cotton clothes and take some over the counter anti histamine drug like benadryl. You should apply calamine lotion to soothe. Most of the cases do not require any treatment , condition usually resolve in 1-2 months. If condition persist for longer times then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may order various skin test and prescribe steroid cream like cortisone .
