What Do Brown Spots On The Hands And Feet Indicate?

I have an Indian friend that has small brown spots on her hands and feet. They are very round and most are only about a couple of millimeters. Any thoughts of what the cause is? They are not your typical aging spots. These are the same brown color and circular. Thanks!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The lesion seems like a variant of solar lentigines also known as age spots. They are more common among Indian population. No need to worry and they can not be cured completely. It you have any suspicion or there is any change is size or color, consult a dermatologist and get evaluated. In that case a biopsy would be better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
