What Do Brown Spots On The Lower Back Indicate?

I had two quarter size maybe a bit larger light brown spots appear on my lower back, one on each side, overnight. Also a dime size darker brown spot appeared on my stomach that looks like a semi oval shape. They are completely flat, do not itch and do not bother me at all. Just word that overnight all three appeared. What could this be and will it go away?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

No treatment is usually required.

Moisturizers, emollients, topical mild steroids are useful in resistant cases. However, there can be other conditions like pityriasis rosea in the same area.

A visit to the competent dermatologist will confirm the diagnosis and proper treatment can be prescribed.

A photograph of the lesion can be helpful in further guidance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
