What Do Bruising And Scars After Using Cosmo Peel Indicate?

Hi, I ve had a Cosmo Peel done yesterday. It went well although there was alot of discomfort and burning sensations during the application of the peel. I do have very sensitive skin. After the peel my skin was fine, there was not much redness. I was told to leave it on for 8 hours before washing off with water. However, this morning when I woke up, there were black burn like bruises on my forehead area. What can I do to remove the scarring as soon as possible?? Is this type of reaction normal? Would you suggest that I continue with it as this was my first session and have 3 more to do?? or not go ahead with them?

Hello,

You had cosmo peel done and are now experiencing bruising and scars. Since you have sensitive skin you should have taken a mild cosmo peel. Pre-treatment conditioning of the skin is done to minimize the damage. Superficial to medium-strength peels commonly take 3-5 days to resurface / recover. While deep peels may take 7- 10 days to recover.

Light peels may present with some skin irritation and mild flaking, but these discomforts are temporary. Side effects of medium peel may cause minor swelling, pain and discomfort, bruise or scars as well as extreme sensitivity to sunlight. You are recommended to avoid public activity for a week or more depending on your recovery.

Drinking plenty of water every day will work wonders for your skin. Apply moisturizer after cleansing and also apply hydrating mist. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, do not touch or scratch. Keep your hair away from the treated area of the face for better recovery. Avoid over moisturising, avoid excessive and unprotected sun exposure. If you have sensitive skin never go for deeper peels as they may cause severe side effects and permanent loss of pigmentation, etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
