What Do Bumps On The Palatoglossal Arch Indicate?

I am a 30 year old female - non-smoker - and I have found two flesh colored bumps on either side of my palatoglossal arch. Not painful like canchor sores. More of an annoyance because I can feel them rub against my tongue when I swallow. What could these be? Should I see a doctor or wait for this to subside?

Hello,

As per your query, you have symptoms of bumps on the palatoglossal arch which occurs when papillae become irritated and slightly swollen and occurs due to dehydration, stress, hormonal changes or acidic and spicy food.

Need not to worry. It generally does not require treatment and resolves within two weeks. You should do warm saline rinses 3 to 4 times a day. Apply Dolo Gel on finger and rub on them slightly.

Maintain good oral hygiene and drink plenty of water. If condition does not get better in few days then consult oral pathologist for proper check up and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Drink plenty of water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
