What Do Burning Sensation During Urination And Groin Pain Indicate?

I have prostatitis I think. I have to urinate several time a day and all night it seems and it burns severely when I go. I have a lot of abdomanable pain/back pain, groin, burning in my penis searing hot. Feels like my bowels are going to fall out of my body. I hurt all night long. I called my personal M.D. he called me in a prescription for ciperoe 500 mg. for ten days worth. I am 65 yrs old with TYP II Diabetes, Severe Arthritis to the point of being unable to walk. Is sweating all over head and body normal and back hurting / pain normal with this BPS whatever it is? Am I healing or is it part one of the symtoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The frequency and burning imply an infection of the urinary tract. This can also be associated with abdominal and back pain. Infections of the urinary tract can involve the prostate, kidney, bladder, ureter or urethra.

BPH (Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy) is enlargement of the prostate, no cancer present. It can cause frequent urination but would not cause the other symptoms to occur.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
