What Do Cramps And Light Bleeding When On Cytotec Pills Suggest?

Hello. I took 3 200mg Cytotec pills last night around 10pm under the tongue to dissolve and almost immediately I noticed cramping Started to occur. However 12 hours have passed and I ve only experienced light bleeding and a small sliver of a tissue clot. Will it begin to get heavier overtime ? Do I just wait it out?

Hi,

Cytotec contains misoprostol that is a prescription medication used as a prophylaxis to prevent NSAIDS or non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs induced ulcers and as pregnancy termination. Misoprostol's multidimensional use in medicine makes it more accessible when compared to abortion pills like mifepristone. You might have 3-7 days of vaginal bleeding heavier than a period after your treatment with Cytotec.

Bleeding may vary from heavy flow with some clots to only slight bleeding like spotting. Bleeding may occur like a normal menstrual cycle. Even, you can pass blood clots too. Bleeding may last up to few weeks. Again, it can last up to the next menstrual period in some women. If this continues for long or bother you, then you should consult your doctor promptly for medical attention.
