What Do Cramps In The Lower Abdomen Indicate?

I’ve been having some cramps in my lower belly for about 2 days now and I’m very worried because this is unusual. I’ve been on birth control for about 4 months but I started my next pack for this month one day late because it couldn’t be refilled. I doubled up on my pills the next day (Monday) at the same time I usually do. My period is supposed to start after I take this last week of pills but I’m so scared about my cramps. Could I have ovulated as soon as I didn’t take the first pill and become pregnant? I had unprotected sex the day before because I thought my pills would have been ready. My mom is going to take me to the doctor because she thinks it could be an ovarian cyst or bacterial vaginosis. I’m only 18 and I’m worrying myself to death. I just want my mind to go to ease

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Cramps may be due to some infection. Don't worry. Please do UPT to confirm the pregnancy. After finishing a month and a few days more, take dicyclomine and paracetamol combination.

Take ofloxacycilin to treat infection. Consult your physician for prescription.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
