What Do Dark Urination And Constipation Indicate?

Hi I am 37 years old morbidly obese (450lbs) 6 1 tall male. Have a history of losing and regaining large amounts of weight. I have been noticing my urine is darker than normal and having some digestive issues. Mild constipation, now loose stool (yellowish to light brown). Recent blood test showed high bilirubin at 5.7mg/dl with Alka Phos 129 and AST 76 (upper range of normal 66). I am concerned as to what this could be. My doctor has ordered followup liver tests as well as ultrsound. I am worried I may have cancer or cirrhosis. Any thoughts?

Hello,
First a yellowish urin maybe possible to many people who don't drink enough. Actually in your case you should proof also the bilirubin level in your urin. Is it also high and in combination with the Transaminase level (ALT, AST) its the right thing to control the Liver, pancreas and the bile paths. In this case a Ultrasound is the choice of control cause of its dynamic part as well. What you can positively occur is to reduce your alcohol level if you consume it regular.
