Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 22yrs female I missed my periods this month the expected date is 2nd oct I did HCG test(both blood and urine ) on 11th of this month the result is negative but still i didn t get my periods Soo whether I shld for test again or is there any other health issue ??
Pregnancy tests detect the levels of HCG. This is normally detected by day 11 to 14 after conception.
If this time had passed when the test was done, then it is accurate. If it had not passed, then it should be repeated
Other causes of delayed period include--(1) side effect of medication (2)emotional stress or illness (3)thyroid disease , these levels would need to be checked (4)physical illness (5)high levels of the hormone prolactin (6)polycystic ovarian syndrome
If your periods continue to be irregular then you would need to see your doctor for assessment which would include blood tests and imaging (ultrasound)
I hope this helps
