Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have little dry patches on my face and one on top of my ear. They can be scraped off but then leave a red mark. They do not itch or anything like that, nor do they hurt....just annoying! I use a facial moisture but have also been trying straight vitamin E oil. Any ideas what this may be?
As per your query, you have symptoms of dry patches of skin on the face which is mainly due to sunburn or photo allergic dermatitis. In this condition the symptoms like peeling of skin and dry patches become prominent.
I would suggest you to:
- Apply cold compresses to your face 2 to 3 times a day. - Apply sunscreen on face and take antihistamine drug like Benadryl. - Apply vitamin C serum at night. - Wash your face with cold water.
If condition does not improve in a week, then consult dermatologist for proper examination. The doctor may prescribe steroid ointment and retinoid.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
