What Do Extreme Shakes In Body With Fever And Excessive Sleep Post Heart Attack Suggest?

Had a heart attack doctors told husband that I died because I was dehydrated since then I have had severe shakes feels like I am shaking from the inside out. Is this neurological? Went to the doctor two days ago doctor said it was not heart meds or side effects from medicine. Running a fever, sleeping two three days at a time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Fever with shakes (called rigor in medical term) could be due to a condition called Dressler syndrome. I would advise you to visit your treating cardiologist and get the condition ruled out. Pl note an immediate action is required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
