What Do Fibers In The Lungs On A CAT Scan Report Suggest?

I just saw my doctor today and he told me that the results of the cat scan? It showed I have “fibers” in my lungs. I am a smoker. I smoke about 3 packs a week. I’m 74 years old and have somed since age 18. Over 50 years . He didn’t make time to explain this can you.

Smoking can lead fibrotic lung disease in which fibrosis develops in lung parenchyma. If fibrosis more than steroid course can be prescribed. It is the form of restrictive lung disease. If you provide your CT scan report than I can comment more on your condition.
