What Do Frequent Outbreaks Of Fluid Filled Bubbles And Pimples With Whiteheads Suggest?

Hi, I have HSV-1 & 2 & get outbreaks every three months or so. In the past year I have been getting two different types of outbreaks. One is like a fluid filled bubble & other is a small bunch of little pimples with whiteheads on it that I can pop easily. Is that herpes too or something else?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to different causes. The fluid filled bubbles seem to be related to herpes. The pimples with whitehead are more likely to be related to a bacterial infection. I recommend using an antibiotic cream for local application. If the symptoms continue, I recommend to see a dermatologist for further treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
