Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Headaches Along With Cold And Rashes On The Body Indicate?
My daughter is 20 years old at university. She had a cold started 3 days ago but today she has a temperature and a headache that starts at the base of the neck. She also has few spots that appeared on her arm, and tummy. She took day nurse and piriteze and the headache has gone down but not gone completely. She put a glass on the spots and if she applies pressure it tends to fade slightly but if she sees it through the glass without pressure then it doesn’t fade. She’s not really sensitive to light and she thinks some of the spots are fading. What do you think it can be? And should I get her to the emergency? Thanks
Cold, headache along with fever are symptoms of viral fever. Along with that your daughter has developed rash which also points towards a viral exanthema. It only requires symptomatic treatment at present.
Tell her to keep herself hydrated and drink lots of fluids. She should take rest and take Paracetamol at 8 hourly intervals to keep the temperature under control.
If the symptoms do not subside or aggravate s in 3 to 4 days, then you must consider taking her to a physician to look for other causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma Amman
