What Do High Blood Sugar Levels And Erectile Dysfunction Indicate?

Hello Good Doctors: My name is Eric Golden.I am a US Army veteran of 82 -86 . I do get help from the VA Hospital here in Omaha, Nebraska. I think I am succumbing to a physical ailment of which I am not sure. I think I am trying to get Diabetes. My urine is now 97% of the time changed. Although there were times over the last year I would wonder at the brightness of my urine. I also seem to feel more what I call uncomfortable reelings of sugar highs. Something is not right I feel. The VA Hospital and my Doctor in the Clinic I belong to prescribed me one antibiotic for about seven days. It worked but the symptoms came right back after I had taken seven days of this medicine. Then. He prescribed me a second antibiotic. Ciprofloxacin for seven days, two times a day. And that worked better. Now. Two months later. I think I may have to go back. I also had some blood in my urine at that time. This being the major factor in seeing the Doctor. I am struggling sexual dysfunction symptoms also.I also informed my Doctor of this. In the past was reassured this problem would not be a cause of concern.Having this problem for about ten years now. I am also becoming more aware of some of the packaged foods that make up my diet. It appears to me now juices and the smaller prepackaged juices are hard to find. And that being of good quality. I do not cook much relying a lot on pre-packaged heat and serve foods. Or healthy fast food options. And those being of limited options more and more too. The Doctors at the VA think it might be a bladder infection. I think I might be trying to get Diabetes. I am 55 years old. I smoked for 18 - 20 months twenty years ago. That did have an affect on my breathing system. Thus telling me the tobacco I had smoked was not real. I worked up to November 2009. I do not drink alcohol hardly at all. Although this might have a more cleansing effect right now. I am not a big beer drinker. I like wine but usually have to save for this on my budget. Thus usually drink around family events and/or on Holidays. My family is really not that big on alcohol and has never been a big staple. I think I am going to research wine buying a little more. I like to drink good wines. Usually this means $15.00 to $23.00. That is pretty big in my budget. I am basically retired. I am a beneficiary of full VA Disability awards from time in the Army. I unfortunately put my body under too much stress after I was released from the Army. I worked 6-8 hours at a minimum wage job and was attempting college. I finally received help from a NE State funded Crises center in Lincoln,NE. I had begun schooling there from the more local Community College here in Omaha,NE. My GI Tract was loaded up and I had to flush it out. It was a little late at that point yet it allowed me I think to live to this point. I think you could described in medical terms as Toxic Shock as to what I suffered from. I think that my system was so loaded that it affected my mental ability. As I was not able to finish my schooling and get a degree because not having mental capacity to achieve anymore. So that is it. What would make my urine to be so bright yellow? And why do I get sugar highs more frequently now?

Hi,

Erection problems can have many causes. These include:Physical problems, such as injury to nerves or loss of blood supply to the penis . Other health problems, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression. Side effects of certain medicines. Stress. Drinking too much alcohol or smoking. The exam, lab tests, and sometimes mental health tests can help find out the cause of the problem. Treatment is based on cause and include avoiding tobacco and drugs and limiting alcohol. Also, talking about the issue with your partner, doing sensual exercises, and getting counseling may be beneficial. Finding and then stopping medicines that may be causing the problem. In some cases you can take a different medicine that doesn't cause erection problems. Taking prescription medicine that can help you get erections. These include pills such as Sildenafil (for example, Viagra), Tadalafil (for example, Cialis). In most cases this is sufficient for treatment but you should just be patient and do necessary tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
