What Do Itching And Burning Sensation In The Genital Area Indicate?
I developed an itch and burning sensation in my genital area and have been scratching myself. This evening I noticed blood on the toilet paper. I looked inside with a mirror and whatlooked like a blister that had burst and was bleeding. I am aa 63 year old female and not sexually active. I am worried because the itch is getting unbearable. I made an appointment withmy gyn. doctor but itis not until January 3rd. Should I go to emergency?
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern. I think that your symptoms are related to vaginal yeast. Some advices that I can give to you are : -Take 14-day cream, ointment, tablet, or suppository vaginal treatment. -Take two or three doses of fluconazole (Diflucan) -Wash and dry the area frequently -Use coton underwear -If it doesn't get better see a gynecologist.
