What Do Itchy Bumps On The Rib Cage And Abdomen Indicate?

i have a rash that has been on my rib cage and parts of my abdomen for 18months they are raised bumps slightly red not very big sometimes itchy i have been prescribed steroid type creams but the rash doesnt go away its not shingles according to my GP

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
The itchy bumps you have on chest &abdomen seem to be ...
-Allergic - allergy to cosmetics,soap,talkum powder used/fabric of clothes/some allergic food.
Mostly relieved by anti allergic pill &steriod skin creme.
Recurrance prevented by avoiding exposure to allergen (the substance causing allergy)... known by keen observation/allergy screen test (done by allergy specialist)&maintenence of preventive dose of anti allergic medicine as per expert's advise.
-The itchy rash not responding to above treatment has to be fungal . Occurs due to carelessness in personal hygiene. Sweating with damp/moist skin thus resuled easily gets infected by fungus.
Management is through ckeaning of body daily (&more times if needed) followed by drying .. using anti fungal dusting powder on
affected area (candid /Neosporine powder) wear cotton clothes only to keep the skin airy .
or skin ointment.. small amount to be rubbed throughly on affected skin.. while can be kept open/thin clothes are worn - in night.
A prolonged continued tretment is needed for full relief.
*Consult skin specialist ... if no relief.. for adding oral medicines .
