What Do Itchy Rashes On The Chest And Back Indicate?

I have a severe rash on my torso and maybe in my throat. It doesn t itch much. It started with the mild pain in my throat; I thought I had eaten a potato chip that scraped my esophagus. I started having mild itching this afternoon but just noticed a severe rash on my chest and back. I had some dental implants put in a week abo last wednesday. The doctor prescribed antibiotics which I took through yesterday morning. thoughts?

Hi,
Thanks for asking. I understand your concern.
Generally skin rashes on chest,abdomen &back are due to allergy,excema,psoiasis or other systemic diseaes like liver ,kidney problems.
You don't give any of such history...You have recent dental implant,taking antibiotics &had mild throat ache to start with mild throat ache.
so in your case more possibility of a general allergic reaction OR side effect of the antibiotic taken OR rarely reaction to the material used for dental implant .
You should take antiallergic pill over the counter to srart with....stop the dose of antibiotic &consult your treating dentist for changing antibiotic.& starting with antiallergic drug of his choice which would manage antibiotic allergy.In case it does not respond, your treating dentist may think removal of implant.
