What Do Itchy Rashes On The Thighs Indicate?

So I have this rash on my thighs and it itches and hurts, I ve tried allergy pills, and I ve tried itching cream. But when I woke up I have a bruise right beside the rash, not on it, then I have dots on my arm, around my armpit and it s bruised, what do u think it is?

Hi Dear,

Itchy rash on thighs seems to be due to dermatitis, dry skin, heat rash or sweat dermatitis and could be due to uncomfortable clothes. I would suggest you to

- Maintain good personal hygiene.
- Use a powder to avoid sweat collection and apply calamine lotion at the sites of the lesion.
-Apply aloe vera gel on affected area at night.
- Apply ice pack to reduce redness and itchiness.
-wear lose comfortable clothes.

If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin, oral anti fungal or anti bacterial depending upon the diagnosis.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
