What Do Itchy Red And White Patches On Hand Indicate?

Hi I have been getting several red and white patches some times on hand and they are very itchy . I have shown several dermatologist and they all say its due to UV rays .however I have been taking several medications but no cure . Have taken allegra tab , applied Hydramoist lotion , tab dazit , tab prugo , tab canditral , onabet and momatex cream . However all work for 2 days and the prob persist again . Also at my neck are I have red patches . Please advise

Thanks for contacting health care magic.

From the history, it looks like you are suffering from dermatophyte infection. The lesion in his infection are erythamatous, annular with few scales at the margin. The white areas you mentioned may be because of lightening due to steroid cream.

This infection responds well to antifungals and you need to cintinue the treatment for 4-8 weeks at least. This will reduce the chances of recurrence. They key here is strict adherence to treatment for next 4-8 weeks.

For now you can start with cap. Itraconazole 1 cap twice a day for one week ( once week only as it is the prescribed pulse dose) , t. Levicetrizine 1 tab in the morning, t. Hydrozyzine 1 tab at bedtime along with terbinafine cream topically.
