What Do Itchy Red Spots On The Body Indicate?

I have itching skin with a few red ant bite like spots. Now a few days later my granddaughter is exhibiting the same symptom. My itching is somewhat relieved by rubbing intensive care lotion on my skin. Benadryl does not seem to help very much if any.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Red itchy spots on the body that are now spreading to your grand daughter too can be due to causes like bug bites, bed bugs, mite infestation causing Scabies.
However allergic reaction or allergy to foods can also be a cause..

For now you can give her anti allergics like Benadryl to relieve itching and apply calamine lotion..
You can also do cool packs to reduce itching and soothe the skin..

But in case if the symptoms continue to spread you can consult an Emergency room and get her evaluated..
A blood test can be done to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms so that further management can be planned accordingly..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
