What Do Large Rashes On The Stomach And Around The Mouth Indicate?

I have large mosquito type whelps on my stomach in the morning. Usually only 1 each morning about a month now and disappears by afternoon but itches. Yesterday day morning and this morning it was in my mouth and tongue. Nothing has changed in my diet, detergent etc! What can this be?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. It seems that you are suffering from an allergic reaction from a substance that you are not aware about but coming in contact with it routinely. The typical allergic reaction increases in intensity from repeated exposures to the allergen which is happening in your case by developing lesions around mouth and on tongue.

I would recommend you to start antihistamine such as Levocetrizine 5 mg (Levocet) or Loratidine 10 mg (Lorfast) once a day for 5 days. This will control the allergic reaction.

After completing the medicines, go for a blood test for allergy after 4-5 days which will evaluate what substances you are allergic to and you can avoid exposure to it in future.

If the substance that is allergen is not avoidable and regular exposure to it is unavoidable then you may need to start antihistamine and continue it for long period of time after taking advise from your physician.

I hope this answer guides you well. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon!

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
