What Do Leg Cramps At Night Indicate?

I tend to get leg cramps at night sometimes after I have eaten avocado or bananas. But last night I had a very painful cramp in my left calf ...I felt something like a pop. I couldn t walk it out like I usually do. Should I be concerned? It is still painful when I walk.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your physical examination should be done along with neurological examination and if needed colour doppler study to check any vascular thrombosis.

Need to check serum sodium, potassium and calcium level to evaluate electrolyte imbalance. Consult a physician for examination

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
