What Do Metallic Taste In Throat With Wheezing Post Exercise Suggest?
hi, I ve been noticing that after exercising, I ve been tasting this metallic fluid at the back of my throat, and also wheezing. along with this I feel very very tired, and lightheaded, even though I feel like the workout intensity was very light. this has been occurring for over a year now.
Hi. I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.
During moderate to intense exercise or workout, there occurs pressure changes inside the lungs resulting in " exercise-induced pulmonary edema", by pushing the fluid which contains Red blood cells inside the lungs.
These RBC's broke down & coughed up into the mouth gives metallic taste.
I advice you to, decrease the intensity & load of exercise. Also get a chest Xray & ABG analysis done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
