What Do Mouth Ulcers And Swollen Lymph Nodes Under The Arms Indicate?

Hi, it s been 9 weeks since possible exposure to hiv. I tested negative at 11 days using PCR RNA hiv test, also again negative at 5 weeks using 4th generation test (I was on truvada at the time for prevention) and again negative at 6 weeks using PCR RNA hiv test. I have been diagnosed for herpes 1 and 2 as well as h. Pylori. I have a few small canker sores on the inside of my gum, small but swollen lymph nodes under both arms, lost 9lbs post possible exposure. I have had low grade fever for 6 weeks. What could be the possible cause ?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First of all no need to worry for HIV infection as all your reports are negative. Your all symptoms are due to herpes infection.
It takes usually 2-3 weeks for complete recovery after herpes infection.
So wait for 2-3 week more. Drink plenty of fluids orally. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Don't worry, you will be alright.
Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.

Hope I have answered your query.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
