What Do My MRI Scan Findings Below Indicate?

Please help me understand these results..

MRI showed:

Mild diffuse disc bulge and facet hypertrophic changes at L4-5

level causing mild bilateral neural foramina narrowing. At L5-S1

level, there is minimal right lateral knee or recess narrowing

from diffuse disc bulge. No other significant stenosis.

I referred you for Physical Medicine and Rehab Dept. Please come for repeat X-ray of lumbar spine.

Welcome to Health care magic.

1.There is disc in-between the vertebral bodies which serves as a shock-absorber properties in weight bearing.
2.In your case the disc has slipped backwards and causing inflammatory changes in the facet joint ( intervertebral joint). At level of L4-5.
3.At the level of L5-S1 there is a disc slip backwards and causing mass effect on the nerve which is passing through the foramen.
4.Howevere there is no significant canal stenosis / effect on the spinal chord.
5.In this case the treatment of the choice initially with simple back exercise and physiotherapy in your case.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
