Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
(1/5) last night we were told that the mass they took out had the cancer and so was the fluid. They drained the fluid and he had surgery on the 17 th The docto(2/5) r says there are still cancer cells in his body so as soon as the results of his last TB test and a full body scan for anymore mass they will then start c(3/5) hemo and radiation But the Last two TB tests cane back negative but the third was inconclusive So they had to do another one and send it out. That will ta(4/5) ke 4 more weeks. And then start chemo. So dumb. So wait 4,more weeks for chemo? What if the cancer spreads?? It just sucks! But thank you for the prayers
As per my clinical experience, the chemotherapy usually suppress the immune system and hence there are high chances of flare up of dormant infections as tuberculosis or others. As the last report for tuberculosis was non conclusive, the waiting of 4 more weeks is obvious to wait for the next round of chemotherapy cycle.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
