What Do My Blood Test Results Indicate?

I just had a Hysterectomy & prior to the surgery my doctor ran some blood test which I am on line viewing my blood work results. I noticed my Eosinophil % [0.0-4.0 %] is 6.8 % *HI* & my Anion Gap [9-18 mEq/L] 20 mEq/L *HI*. What do these results mean? I will be seeing my doctor for a follow up visit in 2 weeks however, I would like to know how concerned I should be?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The lab reports have shown higher eosinophils.
High eosinophils are seen in cases of allergy, parasitic infection and drugs- some of the commonest causes.
Allergies include allergy to environmental agents, hay fever, urticaria, asthma etc.
In case there is evidence of any of the above mentioned problems, it needs to be managed or treated.
High anion gap is seen in metabolic acidosis.
What is the status of electrolyte?
If electrolytes are within range, there is nothing to worry about the anion gap.
It does not indicate anything disease or any complication.

Thanks and take care
